We went on a tour on our bikes (my transportation for the next 6 months) and I learned that the traffic in Taiwan is INSANE!!!!!! They have traffic laws, but no one follows them! As bike riders, we ride in the middle of the road right along with the scooters and cars. They don't have any organization when turning left and the cars are all over the place. Sometimes they just stop in the middle of the road and sit there, it's so crazy! So basically you just close your eyes and go for it! I am pretty sure I will get hit at leas once while I am here :) But don't worry Mom, I will be fine.

I made it to Taiwan!!! Wow, what a crazy place. I now live at the Berhan Language Institute on the 4th floor. We (the other 8 teachers and I) have had quite the adventures getting around and figuring things out these first few days. Today we got to go to the hospital and get examined! It was so busy there and every one were wearing masks. It was actually nice and I wasn't too worried for my life. The city is very colorful but very old and dirty.

I will leave the SLC airport at 9:00 p.m. and arrive in Taiwan June 27th at 6:00 in the morning (15 hour flight). What a flight that is going to be! I am trying to prepare myself for intense heat and humitity. I will be in FongYen (middle west coast). My viasa has proven to be quite a disaster! After getting rejected because they thought I was trying to enter illegally, I applied again to a different place and it got sent back to Rexburg Idaho. As of this moment, my wonderful brother Brandon is driving up to get it. What stress! I am leaving in less then 24 hours and I don't have my visa or passport in my hand. Yikes! Oh well, I know it will work out.

At the moment, this is one of my most favorite places in
whole world! It is the gazebo behind the old Tony Roma's in Logan. There have been so many times when I have come to cross the bridge and sit on the red bench. It's my own litte sanctuary in the middile of a crazy life. This is a place where I go when I want to just think and ponder about my life, or when I am really excited and grateful. There are so many memories that are so dear to my heart that have happened here.

Mary Anne is married!

Mary Anne is married!!! Mary Anne (one of my closest friends) got married on June 7, 2008 in Logan. It was so much fun to get together and see everyone.

Well, I was Miss Tuttle at Eagle Valley Elementary for a year and somehow I made it through! It was hard to leave my school, but I am excited for what is ahead. I am now preparing to leave for Taiwan on June 26th for six months.
